Windows 8 PRO offline Activation MAK Key 11
The error text is correct, but is ambiguous. This error indicates that the computer is missing a Windows marker in its BIOS that identifies it as an OEM system that is running a qualifying edition of Windows. This information is required for KMS client activation. The more specific meaning of this code is "Error: Invalid Volume License Key"
The subscription activation feature enables you to "step-up" from Windows Pro edition to Enterprise or Education editions. You can use this feature if you're subscribed to Windows Enterprise E3 or E5 licenses. Subscription activation also supports step-up from Windows Pro Education edition to Education edition.
The subscription activation feature eliminates the need to manually deploy Enterprise or Education edition images on each target device, then later standing up on-premises key management services such as KMS or MAK based activation, entering Generic Volume License Keys (GVLKs), and then rebooting client devices.
Subscription activation for Education works the same as the Enterprise edition, but in order to use subscription activation for Education, you must have a device running Windows Pro Education and an active subscription plan with an Enterprise license. Inherited activation allows Windows virtual machines to inherit activation state from their Windows client host. When a user with a Windows E3/E5 or A3/A5 license assigned creates a new Windows 10 or Windows 11 virtual machine (VM) using a Windows 10 or Windows 11 host, the VM inherits the activation state from a host machine. This behavior is independent of whether the user signs on with a local account or uses an Azure AD account on a VM.
Windows 10, version 1709 added support for Windows 10 subscription activation, similar to the CSP support but for large enterprises. This feature enabled the use of Azure AD for assigning licenses to users. When users sign in to a device that's joined to Active Directory or Azure AD, it automatically steps up from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 10 Enterprise.
Windows 10, version 1803 updated Windows 10 subscription activation to enable pulling activation keys directly from firmware for devices that support firmware-embedded keys. It was no longer necessary to run a script to activate Windows 10 Pro before activating Enterprise. For virtual machines and hosts running Windows 10, version 1803, inherited activation was also enabled.
Windows 10, version 1903 updated Windows 10 subscription activation to enable step-up from Windows 10 Pro Education to Windows 10 Education for devices with a qualifying Windows 10 or Microsoft 365 subscription.
The following requirements don't apply to general Windows client activation on Azure. Azure activation requires a connection to Azure KMS only. It supports workgroup, hybrid, and Azure AD-joined VMs. In most scenarios, activation of Azure VMs happens automatically. All of your Windows 10 Pro devices will step-up to Windows 10 Enterprise. When a subscription activation-enabled user signs in, devices that are already running Windows 10 Enterprise will migrate from KMS or MAK activated Enterprise edition to subscription activated Enterprise edition.

Hi, I upgraded from win 7 pro to 10. My laptop worked fine for weeks, then refused to start windows one morning. I tried the repairs available (advanced options, etc). I then downloaded the ISO file for win 10, that contains all the win 10 versions, I retrieved the win 10 pro product key from my drive, but during the win 10 installation it says the the key is invalid. Can anyone advise me, please. Thank you.
A product riddled with problems.When an update of windows TEN is done,some of my progremmes simply disappear.On windows 8 I never had any problems whatsoever.The latest problem .I cannot link to my printer. Got an expert in at great cost,he managed the link but as soon as the computer is switched off,that`s it,no more link.My ONLY alternative now is to go back to windows 8 until your team sort out all the crap on the system.
question then say that i have 2 desktops and 3 hard drives all of them have windows and i take harddrive 3 and make it windows 10 from windows 7 on computer b and then go to computer a and launch the hardrive on it useing its windows 10 why does it now say windows 10 is not activated because that happened to my 1tb that is windows 10 home please help
I previously had a windows 7 home premium original copy which I did bought spending my money. It worked well. After win 10 launch I could successfully upgrade to windows 10 and the copy got activated automatically. There were talks around saying Microsoft is giving away free windows activation this time. So i made a USB copy of windows 10 PRO in to my flash drive and I DID A CLEAN INSTALL FROM THAT VERY COPY. Now I have Windows 10 PRO not activated. I cannot activate this using my windows 7 home premium product key. PLEASE HELP!
All things considered, when you get the 0xc00007b error, it generally means that some file in either the startup or activation process is corrupted. Not knowing exactly what your system configuration is, there is really no way to help you diagnose the problem. By this I mean the hardware configuration AND the software configuration.
Exactly where in the process did you receive this error? During the actual upgrade? During the reboot after the upgrade? When you tried to enter an activation key? After you entered an activation key? Where?

The Windows 11 generic keys are technically default keys that allows you to install the OS without activation. They don't provide you with a licensed copy, but are great for testing new builds. If Windows 11 refuses to install without a product key, or installs a wrong edition, you can specify the appropriate generic key.
You can test Windows 11 before you deploy it to your organization or home. In this case, you can use a virtual machine such as VirtualBox or Hyper-V. You may find it a bad idea to enter your license product key you are using on the real computer to activate a vritual instanse. It may have a limit on the number of activations.
So, once you have installed Windows 11 with a generic product key, you won't be able to activate it. However, you may change your mind and decide to make it fully functional. For that, you will need to replace the installed product key with the one that allows activation, e.g. with your retail key.
Note: If you have upgraded to Windows 11 from Windows 10 or Windows 8 with a digital license linked to your Microsoft Account, the operating system will automatically use a generic key during upgrade. That key will be saved to the Registry. Due to that, the tools like Nirsoft ProduKey and similar product key viewers will only show you that generic key.
